A4 wagon - not available in the US (allroad doesn’t count IMO, I hate the lifted wagon look), recently road in a family members from the UK and liked it, if availabile in the US, it would have been a good contender
A6 wagon - not available in the US and presumably too expensive
C class wagon - not available in the US
E class wagon - too expensive
V60 wagon - didn’t like it
V90 wagon - beautiful, but gets pricey with options and didn’t lease as well as my F31.

I hear you though, it’s nowhere as sporty or involved as the old models. Wish it drove like my dad’s 2003 330i sport, which is why I’m still saving for my e46 M3!

Edit: I also got a ridiculously good deal on my F31 which helped the decision making process and puts me closer to my M3

I guess my level of caring about Mercedes' and Audi's offerings has been exposed. Automatic and/or awd has always been a deal breaker for me, so I never really looked into either brands offerings in the slightest-- I just assumed because I see A4 wagons, A6 wagon, and C class wagons driving around that they were still available.

I did drive an E class wagon at some point. If that were somehow forced upon me as my only car, I suspect I do a lot more long distance walking. Complete misery.

^ the lease factor is an important one... our ~$56k F31 leased for $445 / mo with I think $2,500 down after some haggling, MSDs (no longer available ), etc

My F31 was a bmw exec car with an MSRP of $57,620. I got the car with 6k miles on it and pay $495/month with no money down and rolling in all taxes, fees, etc. Iím pretty pleased with that deal

X1 and X2 are hideous, X3/X5 are the go to and the best looking as far as I'm concerned.

Drove one of these today. It's very impressive. Quite quick, sounds great. Even handles quite well for an SUV.
