Default Weird noise from rear of car?

hey guys,
I've had my 02 M3 for since November of 08. When im hauling ass and shifting(SMG tranny), when it shifts its not really a clunking noise but just seems like a really hard shift, maybe? but it doesn't feel like the transmission more near the rear-end. is this normal? Is it just the Power going to the rear? im not sure sorry for the lack of info...i just don't know if im the only one that this is happening to.

E46 M3 comes with alot of noises.
Plenty of rear end noises, including the infamous low-rpm M clunk.

But for this situation, I believe that SMG transmissions' clutch engage very aggressively compared to manual, thus effecting your rear end to make more "noises".

Worst case scenario, your subframe mounting points are cracked.

Side note, they even duplicate the rear end clunking noise in Need for Speed Shift. I'm so happy I played that game before I bought my car or I would have been freaking out when I heard the clunk the first time.
