You need to check your post for the left-right comments. Some are clearly backwards.

I hear you, but they can't both be on the right.

Just a FYI, I have no economic interest with EAS but only to state that I have dealt with Tom at EAS for the past 2 years and he is a stand-up guy and basically tells you like it is. I have bought several products from him with excellent support and even had him do an extensive retrofit of Sirius satellite radio in my other BMW as well.

I appreciate this post describing the difference between the CCFL and LEDs.

In fact, I'll post pics after my install @ EAS next week once I decide which one to put on my E46 M3.

First off, I bought my CCFL MYCARR AE kit from EAS and would buy from them again, they put in a lot of time on this board and are full of info on many things. That being said, just an FYI to anyone looking to purchase the CCFL kit (and the LED kit, although the inverter problem can be ignored). When I was installing my AE kit, I followed the FastM DIY along with the EAS one as they complement each other very well. The FastM one is for the Chromiums, but if the kits are the same, then it shouldn't matter, right? Well, the AE ring and inverter kits are the same, but the wiring harness kits aren't quite. The EAS kit was lacking a wire tap for the trigger wire and the inverters didn't have mating connectors for the ones on the harness wires, they were just bare wires.

Neither of these things are big deals and shouldn't deter you from buying the EAS kit, they were just things I wish I had known ahead of time, that's all. Even though I looked through the kit and the DIYs before I started, I ended up having to run to RadioShack to pick up some taps and connectors (along with a crimping tool, but I didn't really mind as I always love an excuse to buy more tools) halfway through the install. I suppose if one was soldering all the connections then the connector problem is a non issue, but not everyone does this, so it may be a problem for some. I'm extremely happy with my kit and don't regret it at all, just wanted to throw out that bit of information to anyone who's going to buy this kit.

Thanks again to EAS for all their knowledge and great products.

The DIY guides recommend to test the angel eyes before proceeding with the installation. What would you recommend as a power source for testing (specifically the LED version)?

Your battery terminals are on the passenger side - these can be used.

tom is an awesome seller, good posts man.

from the pics, the led versions don't show the individual leds too much, which is a positive imo

I was set on the ccfl but now that I see there is an led, I am back on the fence. There's on a $20 difference. I need to do more searching...
