Yes.

When you have your headlights on you won't have the amber blaring.

It just makes it look a bit cleaner with only the fogs and headlights.

Just throwing it out there.
This has been argued to death already, particularly between me and someone who is now banned from this site, but bottom line is that the whole point of the corner lamp (aka parking light) being on (not sure I'd call it "blaring") is so that you can be seen from the side at night. So please, do yourself and everyone around you a favor, by doing the safe thing and leaving this alone per factory settings/wiring.

Parts arriving:
Crank-case Vent Kit,
New Vader Seat Cover Kit,
New Arm rest cover kit,
New from lower grill,
Replacement hl switch/vent assy,
evo short shifter kit,
replacement carpet kit,
new calipers,
......

I'm into this car at about $12.5K now.... with orig pp, then tires, brakes, reg/tax, cosmetics, mains, misc repairs.

Latest longer trip was pulling down 28-29mpg @ 75mph.... IF the trip computer is correct.

.... I've had two people stop me to say that was their dream car when the were younger.

After careful consideration will probably just go back with stock color, and run the stock motor to get the true experience.

I'm daily driving this old car and working out the bugs one by one.... the last big breakthrough was removing some funky 1" pipe stuffed into the headers as a way to mate the headers to the mid-pipes????..... then clamps over that.... can you say back pressure? Pull that mess out.... AND wow I've got top end now.

I won't make the auto-cross shakedown tomorrow, as I'd really like to get the brakes sorted, and the slopper shifter fixed before we go to a track or aX.

Well factory settings for US/Canadian spec cars. Euro ones do not have them enabled and instead use "city lights".

Anyway, OP good luck on your build! I loved my E36.

Where did you order your seat covers from? Interested to see the fit and quality when you get them installed.

Dj- thx ill try to keep meaningful succinct updates coming.

Nate- covers are autoberry. Cant give endorsement or review until i have them fitted.

Now ive got a pile of parts and needsome time off to install.

Also got word from the east my alcantara 3 spk wheel is done. Just waiting on shipping.

>> small setback this AM..... one of the nice new foglight FELL out on the freeway... I remember hearing a glass shattering sound whil'st on the freewawy @ 80mph.... get home just the plug hanging out of the cavity. At least they were only $30 cheapo's... another set on order.... now I have a spare Drivers Side. Perhaps there's a trick to installing these.. I had to run over some pretty bad roads before this happened.

You should try to bring the car out to the March TWS PDS event. I should be there on Sat (unless plans change and I can't go). I would love to see the car.

A common quick mod is to snip the wire to the front parking lights. You still get the blinker (obviously), but you won't have the amber blaring all by its lonesome.

And, remember, get rid of her ass....she's holding you back!

My wife loves my car.
Don't snip the wire. The connector housing is easily unlocked and the insulated terminal ends slide out. Just slide out the gray/purple wire on both connectors. Reinsert if you want them back (uuuuugly).

From the side? On the E36 yes, but US laws are not about one car. Parking lights are situated all over other cars. Many offer zero side view when on. It's a completely useless feature without consistency in application.

If you want to join hands on something, let's abolish all cars without fender repeaters. Nothing worse than someone trying to change lanes that you cannot see their indicators from the side.

I have the same thing happen just about every time I take it out.
Still surprises me. I figured a silver E36 would be about invisible.
