Default Techno Violet/Daytona Violet E36 M3 Coupe

Thought I might reach out to you guys. I've been searching for a Techno Violet E36 M3 coupe for a few months now. Unfortunately, a few weeks ago, the perfect one popped up locally to me here in Los Angeles for 10.5k, I was in contact within a few hours to give deposit and wait for me to get off of work, but the car sold before I was able to squeeze out of the office that same day.

I've been trying to hunt one down ever since and pretty much have covered the entire country trying to find another. I am beginning to consider other colors, but just wanted to reach out to some fellow enthusiasts that could help me look. I'd be happy to extend a finders fee as well.

I'm located in SoCal, and am more then open to shipping. And yes, I am aware of the flawless restored example on Ebay for 27k.

My budget is around 10-14k.
Techno or Daytona Violet Coupe
5 Speed
Black Interior (Dove grey is OK if its the right car)
Really not being picky about spec and mileage at this point, my main prerequisite is the color currently.

Thanks to anyone in advance that helps me search.

Might as well buy the one for 27k on eBay by the time that one is worth owning.

Yes alot of work needed. I was thinking of going to look at it since I'm in CT. The color and slicktop makes it a rare sort but the condition requires lots of time and $$$$ to bring it back.

That car in CT looks to be a nightmare. Unfortunately, the few cars I have sourced on my own seem to be just horrible examples. This Techno Slicktop is a starter, but there are also these two.

There was a techno car in Sacramento not too long ago, whose owner recently deleted it's ad. Car needed an entire re-spray, was cosmetically destroyed. Also had a bad Vanos and needed quite a bit of diagnostic work engine wise, it was not driving home to say the least. Still asking $5k.

There is also this car local to me.

I had some buddies who actually knew where the car was parked and I was able to pass by this thing (thought I wasn't considering it). It has had a very neglected 225k mile ownership, and surely has just been sitting for the last few years. The paint was practically non-existent. Paint was just pitted head to toe with UV damage everywhere, car really had no clear coat left.

It is a bummer, especially when a perfect one pops up but is gone within the hour. I surely wont snooze on the next opportunity, but who knows when another car is going to pop up.

I'm going to have a look at this one in CT. It's not too far from where I'm located. A car with that much rust in that area is mainly for someone looking to do a complete project boosted with a GTR widebody kit.
If it's still available I'm going to contact the seller to see what the underside looks like.
