Unhappy Ignition not turning over

When I try to start my 2005 M3 it usually takes 3-4 attempts at resetting the process in order for her to start. Sometimes it may start of the first try but usually it's 3-4 and this happens with both keys. Also, one of my keys cannot unlock the door or the trunk.

I know (the) keys are rechargeable but are we able to replace the battery or do I have to order a new set. Could his be a key-communication issue due to low key/battery power?

There doesn't seem to be noise from a failing starter or low car battery issues.

If SMG it means your pump has lost a significant amount of pressure. You should probably either preform a tranny swap or replace the pump.

Based off of what the OP said...how did you conclude that the issue was the SMG?!?!

Any codes OP? Could be a number of different issues from fuel pressure, starter, CPS etc

Could be anything, the pump is a common issue with these cars that are smg equipped. Seems almost as if it's smg pump if below 100k miles.
