Thank you for the info.I don't have carsoft so most probably I'll do it by DIS ,as for software I know a shop that has original SSS with GT1 which I'll probably use in installing the software since I'm new to programming and I'm afraid I'd mess something up when installing the manual transmission software. One last question do I need to remove the smg control unit before update or not and do I need to to program any module after software update to the DME or not. Thanks a lot for the help I really appreciate it.

Don't remove the SMG control unit until after everything is coded and working properly. The other modules you'll need to recode besides for the DME are the IKE (cluster) and DSC module.

You can actually code the other modules in winkfp If I'm not mistaken but don't quote me on that.

But in SSS you just try and reflash them manually, hopefully you won't have to find software numbers for each module.

If you have true sss you can go to the e34 coding and use the old style coding to recode each module.

SSS can't do anything that you can't do with NCS Expert and WinKFP.

You can recode individual modules without picking E34... but you need to edit the VO first (which frankly is a pain with SSS)

Terra is the guy you need to be speaking to about this process. Subject matter expert right there!

Dear All,

Thank you all for the help, I really appreciate it. I'm new in programming so I searched for the VO and found that it means Vehicle order but what exactly do I need to do with it. I'm sorry that I'm asking a lot of questions but I'm new at this and I need all the help from you guys. I'm afraid to work with NCS expert as I have never used it and I'm afraid I'd damage the ECU. Could you please advise what has to be done to the VO and how to do it or tell me where I can find info on it. Thank you all

My car already has a Euro software not US software , do I still have to change the VO or this was only for changing regions or I have to change the VO because I have changed the car from SMG to Manual.
