You're right.. he's not going to be happy though as he just changed it for the first time by himself. It's gonna take some convincing

It's a total pain unless you have this. Makes life swell again. I have separate ones for my trans and diff.

Long run it costs less than buying those stupid $10 transfer pumps that always fall apart.

Good call, I believe there's a few of those little pumps laying around my dad's garage right now that are broken.. lol

I bought a Motive brake bleeder that I still have yet to use, wonder if that would work just as well

Doesn't it blow to keep positive pressure on the brake system while opening the bleed valve(s)?

I have a dedicated MTF2 Motive pump and a dedicated e46 M3/e39 M5 diff fluid pump.

They work really well!

Super convenient having all cars use the fluids... right until said fluids are discontinued.

Duh...I was thinking of a vacuum bleeder.

I guess you could but the biggest pain is cleaning those units. I'm willing to waste some money to save myself the hassle.

Yeah I guess that wouldn't be worth it.. I don't want oil in my brake lines and/or brake fluid in my trans!

I thought the BMW tranny fluids got thinner and thinner for fuel economy reasons. So LT2 was lighter than LT1 and LT3 the lightest.

Here's a VOA on MTF LT3 showing k visc @ 100cSt as 6.1 which is very low, atf low. Our MTFLT2 is 7 iirc - I'll double check. EDIT: MTF-LT2 is 7.5 @100 cSt

IIRC, Lt1 was like 7.7. So heavier to lighter LT1 > LT2 > LT3 BTB - where did you get the idea that LT3 was a 75w90? A 75w90 would be around 9-10 @100cSt
