Nice! Took quite some time huh. Better late than never!

But damn, I'd love to grab an E46 one day and just completely strip it out and make it a track day car. I miss the sound of natural aspiration more than anything

Totally subjective and all personal taste. I have tried a 10, 20, and 30 and prefer the 20%.

Regardless of the throw you prefer, it makes shifting the e46M 200% better.

It's slightly different(few millimeters). Having it be exactly the same would have been a substantial price bump. I figured it was close enough.

Definitely is subjective. That being said, I doubt many have tried it(I have the only 0% AS kit as far as I know).

I still need to get out of break in on it too. Apparently they are substantially better still after 200 miles.

I have to try one of the AS shifters some day. After switching back to DDing a 330 6-speed, I'm realizing just how shitty the E46 M3 shift linkage is. Semi considering just throwing in a 330 transmission in the M3.

I imagine the type of roads matter a lot for break in. On a 200 mile stretch of highway I could very well end up shifting less than 5 times.

Not to point out the obvious here, but want to drive mine?

Absolutely and 0% are very rare for sure. Some people just prefer a shorter throw from stock. You know - us racecar drivers.

As for break-in, absolutely!! I would argue it takes longer than 200 miles though.

IMO, I couldn't imagine it feeling much better. I was told by someone who owned both the e46M and a GT3 that it was "GT3 good".

really pretty car, haven't kept up with the thread...did you do an exhaust?

I can really see the e46m3 becoming somewhat of a collector's car...they made a ton but a ton were and are being destroyed...

No exhaust, if anything, I might add another resonator to delete the rasp completely. Exhaust sound of any type is pretty bad on the E46 M3 in my opinion. Induction noise on the other hand...

And yeah, I agree with you. Unmolested 6MT cars will be on the collector end of the spectrum down the road. There already is a pretty large gulf between them and the rest of the cars available.

the rest-mod scene has changed the game tremendously...at one point, anything that was molested didn't get touched but the market is much friendlier towards engine/transmission/paint/body mods...I think it's great, I'm over the difference between a horn button from early 57 and late 57 and how they differ on the .5mm indentation.
