thought i would post my Euro washer bottle install, these came on Euro E36 M3 with SMG
this relocates the washer bottle to the front lower passenger side bumper first thing you need is the euro radiator cover [IMG][url=https://flic.kr/p/2gAkQ3j] ![]() they come with the hole for the washer bottle fill, filled in, you need to cut it open [IMG][url=https://flic.kr/p/2gAkPk7] ![]() [IMG][url=https://flic.kr/p/2gAkN9u] ![]() then you need one of these, the fill/cover, its a flip top [IMG][url=https://flic.kr/p/2gAkbpx] ![]() [IMG][url=https://flic.kr/p/2gAkLbM] ![]() and cut the appropriate holes where needed [IMG][url=https://flic.kr/p/2gAkKz6] ![]() then you need the rubber hose to feed it from the top to the bottle [IMG][url=https://flic.kr/p/2gAiHxj] ![]() and of course the bottle itself, this is it, test fitting into my new bumper [IMG][url=https://flic.kr/p/2gAiJN5] ![]() you also need this metal bracket that bolts from the frame area to the top of the bottle to brace it [IMG][url=https://flic.kr/p/2gAiJca] ![]() [IMG][url=https://flic.kr/p/2gAiAL8] ![]() view from the fender with the fender well cover removed [IMG][url=https://flic.kr/p/2gAi4ze] ![]() view from the top [IMG][url=https://flic.kr/p/2gAi83S] ![]() view from the new fill area [IMG][url=https://flic.kr/p/2gAiFB5] ![]() open, the only thing no longer available for this swap, is a strainer than fits into the fill cap [IMG][url=https://flic.kr/p/2gAi2Mw] ![]() [IMG][url=https://flic.kr/p/2gAiC8b] ![]() hope this helps some people who want to do this swap. ECS used to have a complete kit available, but no longer do. I used realoem.com to source part numbers and ordered everything i needed from ECS. You will need to drill 2 holes into the metal bumper and 1 hole in the lower bumper cover. There arent many pics on the web of this swap, in fact i could only find 1 other car, a Ti that had pics of the swap online |

I have the strainer
![]() But then I also have SMG, so maybe you win, lol. The metal bracket is a bit of a mistery. It’s not factory fitted on my car and I can’t even see where it could possible fit to. I see you have the version for two pumps (headlight washers) and blocked it off. There also is a version for cars wthout headlight washers. And you’re missing the valve, that goes into the hole on top. At least I see no pic where it is fitted. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...e/61668361370/

yeah ECS only had that version when i ordered it, took 2 months to get the bottle. The bracket bolts to2 existing bolts that are used to attach the fender.
Interesting valve, whats it for? i used a plug on top with a small hole in it. and used a plug in the 2nd hole for the other pump |

No idea. Maybe an airvent to prevent a vacuum or something?
Have to check the bracket. Is it obvious? I ordered one some time ago. But it’s also fixed by 2 nuts/bolts on the bumper and plastic rivet at the bottom. p.s. you didn’t need to cut that hole underneath the rad cover. Look at shape of the filler neck. Not deep and a sharp right angle right after its opening. Out of curiosity, what’s the datestamp on the inside of the fliplid?

Well, can't be that many reason.
1. Because it's cleaner (no pun). That big fluid container does not look very attractive. 2. To have a somewhat unique option. 3. To add something "Euro".

Pretty cool.
I will keep it in mind - just like the under hood light the US cars never received. LOL

Maybe early years had one, I don't have that info, but it's not listed in any of the brochures I have (and I have lots of E36 ones) nor in pricelists. There is a big pro with the SMG fluid reservoir, when you have headlight cleaning. Many people have had their washer jets leaking and this drained the (bigger) 5L reservoir you got with the headlight clenaing option. With the SMG reservoir, since it sits below the headlight washers, will not drain it.

i did the S54 conversion, and at first i had the AIR pump sitting there in place of the washer bottle. So i didnt have a washer bottle for a while, then decided to order all these parts for the euro bottle.
Then realized i didnt need the air pump anymore, but decided to continue with the install for aesthetic reasons. |

"I did the S54 conversion" is a funny way of saying that.
