Soooooooooooooo ... this is now a build thread.

My doors go up.

These showed up. Thanks to Toyo

The new, used and very aged, wheels are back from powder coating.

Moving forward. New wheels powder coated and 235/50R15 R888r added to the rear.

fixed the broken antenna and saved some weight. Delete that bish

Doesn't look too bad for sitting for 20 years

Second pair of rear wheels are back from powder coating and going on the fronts with 225/45 tires mounted

B4

AFTR

. . . pretty sure I have more fender gap than any other car on this site, ever. HIGH5

More relevant shoes. McFlyAF

AP rotors are in

Delorean parts finally showed up from KW

[/url]

Install day. This could have been the biggest pain in the ass coilover install I've ever done, but decided to use a cut off wheel instead of a spring compressor and that made quick work of the job. Fun fact, the Delorean didn't meet US crash regulations, so DMC added some height to the US cars and called it a day. This makes for some interesting suspension geometry and install/removal. The rear springs really want to kill someone.

Front:

Rear:

Onto the car . . .

Before

After

The roofline is only 40" tall.

There is a lot of work to do to get this set up to work, but this is a good start. It ended up getting over 4" of drop when KW advertises a 1.3" drop.

Looking sweet!

Do the fronts clear the fender when turning, looks kinda close on the leading edge?

Amazing so far, front stance looks proper as hell. My guess is this one ends up in some magazines.

For the swap... keep it in the three-per-side six family? If so, my vote is Mezger turdbro or VR38DETT

4" drop reminds me the old Street magazines where the race springs would dump your Accord 4.5", or the cheap guys would just cut them

What's the plan for the engine?

The passenger side barely touches the air dam, but the driver side catches the fender. So we have to do a bit of work to reduce the offset. It's getting F355 brakes with AP rotors and custom hats, so during this part we should be able to bring them in quite a bit. Then the rears are getting spacers.

Internal child/gearhead was ecstatic over that.

Speaking of cutting springs, we had to cut the fronts in 4 (and 5) places to relieve tension to pull them out. Suspension geometry on this car is to meet US crash requirements for the early 80's.

First off, I have to see if it's fun to drive. If it is and since this has the PRV engine, it's going to get weird with a KIA V6 race motor and a pair of snails.
