Even more surprising is the interior. Trimmed by the people who do the Bugatti Veyron, it is ó and you wonít believe this ó a nice place to be. The seats are by Recaro, the leather is hand-stitched and the graphics donít appear to have come from Amstrad circa 1984. You would swear you were sitting in something European.

Of course, youíd expect the illusion to be gone when you look at the exterior. It isnít. There are no badges written in the typeface used on northern wedding invitations. Thereís no onyx. Maybe the chicken-wire radiator grille is a bit sudden, but then again, have you seen the front of a Bentley recently? No. Iím sorry but itís a good-looking car, this.

Don't know if I'll ever get out of my mind the typical American muscle/sport/ sedan cars-HUGE, heavy, shoddy interiors, plastic buttons on everything, just can't compare to a European interior. Looks like Caddy is trying to make their new CTS look like a futuristic space ship inside. And the price that one of the posters quoted, yes, that is absolutely corrrect. BMW IS SELLING M3's AT INVOICE (AND LESS)RIGHT NOW. JUST PICKED MINE UP 2 DAYS AGO.
So you test drove one and that's how you got to these conclusions?

Intelligent post...

How about Chevy's?

I can think of 2 or 3 that will embarrass just about any car BMW makes from a performance perspective...

seriously...

anyhow, the caddy is a nice car, and apparently pretty adept on the track... even though it's a boat. if i was in the market for a $60-$70k car, i'd definitely at least give it a try... but if i already bought an e9x m3, i wouldn't even give it a second thought!!!!

Wow, I cannot believe some of these posts, no wonder M3 owners are perceived as d!cks. The CTS-V is a beast and will spank the E92 in every category, the only one which could be up for discussion here is appearance and that is personal preference. The fact is that the Cadillac Performance Division, headed by John Heinricy, did a great job with this car. And for the price, you just simply cannot beat it.

Spank the e92?

Yes, Caddy did a fine job with this car. I'm an American car fan and will give it props for what it is.

But SPANK the M3 in every category?

The Caddy made it around a 13 mile track a whopping 6 seconds faster than the e92...I wouldn't say that's SPANKING it.

0.46 seconds faster per mile?

One tenth of a second in a 1/4 mile?

That's now what I call spanking...but it seems like it'll be a cool car once it hits the market.

I'm actually happy to see the CTS-V performing at the top levels of sports sedans. It shows that the American car companies have top quality engineers who can deliver the goods if given the chance. More good cars = more good choices and makes life interesting. I may not buy a CTS-V (or even an E9X M3 / E60 M5) but at least there a range of choices.
