Default Vehicle Coatings Opticoat, Gyeon, C Quarts Finest

Hoping to get a good discussion on these coatings and if anyone has any experience with them for their current M3's or other vehicles.

These seem to be the hottest thing in the market and I can't really understand if they are worth it over a normal high quality detail with a wax.

There are suppose to be so many benefits, reduced marring, easier to clean etc.

Anyone have any real world experience? Are they worth the $1,000 + price tag?

I have cquatz on my truck. Ehhhh. Idk if I would do it again. I have modesta on my m3. That is amazing. Higher price point though. Car seems to stay clean for a very long time. Everything repels off.

I went with Ceramic Pro and an very happy with it. Better protection, longer lasting, lower maintenance, etc than a normal detail/sealant/wax.

I would also add PolishAngel and Nanolex to this growing list.

Personally I plan on going with Kamikaze and their line of coatings. I have pretty much read and researched a lot that is out there and I think it's the system for me. I plan on doing their glass coat (Miyabi coat) as a base and then their flexible hydrocarbon coating (ISM coat) on top. The ISM coat gives an incredible glow/depth that you can't get from most coatings and really makes flake pop. I also plan on using their Rim Coat on the wheels which is high temp rated to 1400 degrees. Lastly maintain the paint with their overcoat after washes.

This as you can probably guess is a Japanese coating. This is were the whole idea of a coating originated. Most of there products are low or no solvent and voc free. So I do not have to worry about wearing a respirator on application.

I would like to add that you must also maintain coatings with toppers. It's a common misconception that once you coat a car you are done. As you can see Todd at Escoteric explains in this Overcoat video.

Todd is one of the top detailers in the business. He is very selective on what he uses and what he sells on his online store. His other videos are great if you take a look at them.

My guy (Hill Detail Works in Dallas) put 22ple HPC coating on last June. I would highly recommend having it put on, it's amazing how clean the car stays. Even after driving in the rain the car looks clean. Dirt and grim seemingly cannot stick to it.

Ceramic Pro is who I will be using as well. For the price point I choose CP because of lifetime warranty and also the only coating that goes onto your carfax besides the other main reasons.

This is another great combo! Very curious to see how the new Exo V3 fares. I know GTech CSL was quite good. I heared some having issues with Exo V2. The new one is supposed to be even more durable.
