Default Reality check... ver: Motorsport door handles

Hey guys, I'm sure some of you can tell quickly if these are these real or fake... Mind helping a brother out?

I feel like the font is not quite on...? Also, can you remove the plastic handle part easily? Most of the handles I see are sold as an entire assembly. Not sure how that works having never handled one myself

...seems legit???

Pictures are too dark to see much... Thoughts?

Thank you kindly

3 looks real, other two home engraved. Texture of indentation is not oem smooth. At least they got the font right. Was always the giveaway.

For the money though, you're better off buying new oem.

I was told by BMW Mannheim that they are not available unless you can prove you own a car they were originally equipped on... If you can help me find a set I'd love that.

How time consuming is the install? (I would want to keep my key, not add a separate door key).

I'm surprised more people don't do this mod...its a very cool touch.

400 dollar door handles aren't my idea of a bang for the buck kind of mod. They are cool, and I want a set, but I can sure understand why people don't bother.
Curious about the install as well though. I'm in the same boat. Obviously want to keep my original key.

I think the instal and swapping the tumblers is kind of a pain in the balls, I obviously haven't done it myself but I read a couple threads on door handle repair and it might suck a bit. I would do these at the same time as other major interior or body work that requires pulling the door cards.

Parts with locks are ordered based off the VIN you provide, in these cases, you show the salesperson your car's papers.

Of course you would not need a separate key.

Last year I ordered a fuel cap with lock. Identical process.

And otherwise, say you bought a second hand set, you would swap the lock barrels.

Removing and installing doorhandles is quite a PITA.
