Default Correct control arms?

I need to replace my front right control arm but it doesn't seem to match online pictures of new control arms. I have a 1999 m3 coupe. The outer ball joint has the metal clip system that looks similar for non-m3's or '95 m3's. See picture below.



I was expecting to see a smooth bottom joint like the picture below.



Can some please confirm this is okay and some sort of older version of the control arm.

Nope. Someone cheaped out when replacing the arms on your car.

Nope. Wrong arm. Replace it (both ideally).
