I just don't understand the incentive here. If it made more power using the V1s necked down with a stock section 1, SS wouldn't have bothered with making the V2s. The purpose of the V2s is to max the gains with a stock diameter section 1.

If the intent here is to pass the test legally and still make the most power, I would buy some GESi cats with the right diameter for your current section one and have an exhaust shop weld them in. One of the few aftermarket cats that can set readiness and not restrict power

If you just want to pass and don't care what laws you/ the tuner are breaking, then yeah.. ask the tuner

I'm with Ian on this one, it seems like you're making a mountain out of a mole hill. Sell the V1's and buy V2's, it will be a direct bolt up and make your life easier. The difference in power will be marginal at best, unless you're doing an SS section 1, there is no need for the V1's. I did V1's because I opted to go catless in my section 1, now in the long run if I should switch to a catted section 1, I have to spend the long dollar and do SS section 1 because I'm not redoing the headers. Just get the V2's, it will save you a major headache.
