Default Connecting Supersprint V1 stepped headers to euro cats

Anyone know if there's an adapter to connect the larger diameter tubing of the V1 stepped headers to the stock euro cats? Need this to pass sniffer in CA. Currently have supersprint high-flow cats in section 1 which show my post O2 sensors in 'not ready' status on OBDII.

Another issue would be the visual which I've been told that many places don't bother checking. Any insight on this?

Really trying not to revert my entire system back to stock but I may have to as my very last option.

Thanks.

There is no adapter to attach the V1s to a standard section 1. You would have to have some fabrication done to make it work. If your post cat O2s are in 'not ready', that is the first thing you need to change. You can have them ready, with any cats or no cats. That all depends on the tune.

I had heard, that CA stopped doing sniffer tests on OBDII cars, similar to other states. If this is true, all you need to do is change your tune to pass the OBDII test. You will still fail visual every time, if they check.

Subbed as one day I'd like to go to SSv1 from my Euros and I have euro sect 1 as well. I've seen another standard sized sect 1 here on the forum with new, larger ends welded on to mate up with SSv1s, I think one of the vendors was selling it.

You're right, no sniffer test in CA.

So the tune dictates the readiness of the O2 sensors. This would be ideal if I don't need to change any hardware. Looks like I need to shop around for a tune. Thanks.

You don't need a tune, you can use this tool to set the post cat o2 sensors to ready http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=508807 . I still highly recommend you get a tune anyway it will help to balance out your AFRs the ssv1's really throw them off, so you may be running lean.

Very interested to see if someone has done the V1 + Euro cats combo and how much fab work was required. This sounds like an ideal set up if it isn't too difficult/pricey.

If you want to use the OE cats, I'd suggest using the V2 stepped headers-- that's what they're designed for, I would think you'll get a better result and less effort.

But what's the hp/tq diff between v1 and v2 Ian? If it's significant enough, then why would someone bother going from euro or other catless header to SS v2 right?

Yeah, but some of that is because of the larger diameter section 1. Necking it down is going to at least partially negate that difference.

The SSV2s still make more power than the OE Euro headers. Just not as much more as the V1s.

Looking to do this as well when I purchase V1s. I have a spare oem section 1 and would like to find some adapters that are the appropriate OD. Does anyone know the correct OD for OEM section 1 and the OD for SS V1 stepped?
