I currently have the manual factory seats.

Thoughts?

Should I consider just recovering my factory ones so they aren't slick as snot?

This is just a weekend car and something I do autox from time to time.
Z4MC seats.

Ok so a guy is brining in a set of recaro sportster cs seats next week. They are new but are selling for 2800 for the set.

Will I be too fat for them? My waist is a 42-44

I guess I can go up to 3k with mounts if they are going to fit me but they still need to be folding, unless it is just stupid to look for those.

You may want the Cross Sportster, with the flatter bottom seat cushion.

Anyone using Recaro SPG XLs in their daily? I know its a fixed bucket, but it was standard in the e92 M3 GTS. I sat in one a few months back and thought it was pretty comfy, and obviously super supportive. I'm 6'5" and ~200 lbs for what its worth

This is the most likely seat to go into my M3 coupe. But, I wouldn't want to DD them-- just the effort involved in getting into/out of them would make it too annoying to tolerate, imo.

If you're considering a DDable fixed back bucked, I'd look at the Cobra Nogaro. 3 point belts will work better, easier to get into and out of.

Thanks for the tip, that looks pretty nice. Though the Recaro has holes in the sides that I imagine work okay for the stock belt, and would allow me to use my Schroth quick fit which clips into the stock belt receptacle. Its true the high bolsters probably make them a b**ch to get in and out of though...

Do you guys know if the sportster is big people friendly?

For reasons far beyond my comprehension, OE supplied fixed back buckets come with an indent for the factory 3 point belt receiver:

While seats you buy on your own do not, resulting in this being your best case scenario:

^very annoying to have the 3 point receiver digging into your hip.
(my plan for that is I need to have them reupholstered either way, in imola leather, so I'll have them add that area at that time).

I'm 6'3.5 and I find the Sporster CS harness holes to be almost too low to safely use (harnesses should be able to leave your shoulders at a 0-20 downward slope, unobstructed by the seat). At 6'5, I suspect you're too tall to use them (unless your height is legs). I'd for sure test sit them first.

Since your car is dual purpose street/track, if you do go the sportster route, I wouldn't get the low sided cross sport version.

I have a set in grey in my basement I'd sell for next to nothing.

With lumbar support!
