Not sure I understand - without the latch wouldn't the toolkit constantly be open, flopping around in my trunk? Do you have a photo of how yours is installed?

Sorry I thought when you said latch your referring to the plastic strap that holds the toolkit level when open.

Just use the square plastic nut. Reuse the one from your Oem trunk. Tricky part is you'll have to cut out a square hole to install it.

Yep - sorry if that was unclear. The cutting of the hole is the difficulty I'm having. That section where the hole is supposed to be cut doesn't look nearly thick enough compared to the stock lid? Is there enough thickness in that section to mount the nut?

Yes. I've used the Oem nut on Oem csl Bootlid odds several times. Just measure twice and cut once. I use a dermal cutter and make the vertical and horizontal cuts. Then carefully make the four corners. Be careful not to make the square too big or exceed the square.

They are talking about a private sale. I'll post a separate thread for a part two when that time comes. Still waiting on production of more inventory at this time.

I haven't read all 48+ pages of this. But I'm interested in this bootlid. I just bought an OG M3 abd i'm in love with the CSL trunk. I would pay a premium to get OEM quality - so this seems like my jam.

But I don't know what the timeframe is like? You've got a +1 for interest if its still an option but I have no idea whats going on here. It does seem like its still being organized though.
