I'm thinking of getting these 4 part #s:
23317511337 - Main Spring (5)
23311228393 - 02
23111222720 - 06
23311228405 - 15

I also need some clarification if all 4 springs should be replaced is having problems (specifically gears 1-4). Additionally, are these part numbers all the "upgraded spring" part numbers?

Hey guys.

Following up my last post. Did anyone here change all 4 springs? Additionally, have all 4 springs been "beefed up" by BMW to avoid future breakage?

Seems only compression spring #23317511337 has been improved.

Time to revive, also flame suit equipped!

So, I have access to a full shop, lifts and what not. But don't necessarily have the time to do all that crap like dropping exhaust, and drive shaft, time is money. Blah blah blah, also I'm no stranger to turning wrenches; been doing it for a good while now.

With that said, I know this is not the proper way to do it, but I know I cannot be the only one who hasn't been tempted to just cut a small whole in the tranny tunnel and you have access to everything on top of the tranny?

I know, all the BMW lords will freak the eff out, but seriously. Die grinder, cutting wheel. Done in an hour. IDK maybe I'll be the guinea pig for this and let you all know, I'll give my VIN out too so you guys can put me on the blacklist of cars not to buy.

Serious note, I plan on owning this car until I die or it dies; sooooooo I can live with a small hole then just weld it back in.
