At the time this post was made...

The early poll results are already starting to show a preliminary oil consumption rate of at least 4,000 miles per liter, for over 75% of the S65 V8 owners.

50% are reporting 1-liter oil consumption rates at or above 5,000+ miles.

I will know when I need to add oil. I have a feeling that I may need to add oil like I need to add fuel

After my 1,200 mile service, my E90M3 took 1/2 liter at 8,000 miles, but that only raised the gage to 3/4. I did not add more, to avoid over filling. It was at 1/2 when I took the car in at 10,000 miles for its' one year service, which was free.

My oil meter on the dash has just dropped to 3/4 full after 4000 miles..... how much oil is that likely to be to get back to full?

After my 1200 mile service, the oil level was at the top of the range. At about 4k miles, I got the low oil indicator showing I was a full liter low so I added a full bottle.

Another good question to ask would be were the break-in procedures closely followed or not and how has that correlated with oil usage.
