Is it? That's the very first I'm hearing of it then, after countless hours of searching.

If that's so then I'll pull the Rouge one, because I'm just trying to figure out how to forget about the Vanos entirely. I don't care what it costs, I just want the best.

Awesome guys. Thanks a bunch. I'll probably start piecing the parts together for a rebuild within the next month or so. Getting married in 3 weeks so the fiancée will be pissed if I spend too much money on my car. I already spend wayyy to much on golf equipment and cigars.

Plussss I'm eyeing a set of CSL reps because the wheels the previous owner had on this are awful....

They added an additional mount point (to one of the vanos mounting bolts) to address the vibration that was causing the original line to fail.

Rouge suggests replacing theirs yearly. The updated OE is one and done, cheaper, and nobody has reported a failure on one yet.

Did the updated part come originally in any later model cars?

Good question, I see it listed on Realoem here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/partxref?q=11367837614

Unsure if this means that the part was used on production cars from 10/17/05 onwards, or if the part was simply just available. Can anyone clarify?

I've never seen a car that came with it, though that does imply that late 2006s came with it.

That said, you have one on your car-- you installed the bottom banjo bolt while I was doing your vanos overhaul

I have a crate motor that was installed in 2016. I want to see if the crate motor has the updated line.

So the difference is a third mount to prevent vibration?

Yes, stealing and modifying a picture from my own journal, the additional mount point is here:
