Mine does it every single time of the day that I start it. Cold or hot doesn't matter it will still enter cold start mode.

Mine did it before it was tuned as well. I contacted frank, I have to read my dme and send it to him to see what's up. His customer service is top notch.

Both of the Ms i had did this, It doesnt really bother me, i just let it do its thing for the 10 seconds and then drive.

Same with my E36 328i. Always wondered about this strange phenomenon. First time I read about this cold start thing.

Funnily enough, my (Euro) E36 M3 never does this.
