Yep! Top idea...

What would be really cool if we could would be to get:

A pic of the system pre-install (either from the manufacturer or from a purchaser) so that it can be referred to when somebody asks "what do I do with that black bracket thing" etc.

Pics of it installed in various cars like a standard US and a US with Euro lights or a Euro install.

May not get these all first up but there's are heaps of people out there with CAI + digicam so eventually you would get the full lot I imagine.

Also, if it's possible to have a poll on a read only thread (I imagine FAQ's will be read only??) that could be quite cool. People can vote on their favourite to give reads a feel of the "popular choice"... may work...

Good to see this getting off the ground. Happy to provide any info (especially Euro) that I can.

Here is an image of the Benfer Intake. It goes down into the bumper area.

By the way, this design has since been redone and it is now a single pice intake without the Water Ingestion part. Also, the price has gone up to about $299.

Manufacturer - Dinan

Style - True CAI

Advantages - Carbon fiber intake does not transfer much heat to the cold air coming in, therefore, not warming the air up before it reaches the engine. The filter is located behind the bumper and brings in fresh cold air from outside. Carbon fiber piping brings lots of attention in the engine bay.

Disadvantages - Price: $350 - $399 (got mine for 350 at a site, i'd have to find it again). Then again, almost all BMW mods have this disadvantage. More difficult to maintain the air filter (although, i did not have to remove my bumper when installing). Can not use euro lights without modifying the light housing.

.. oops... i dont have a pic from that side.
