Arrow One-Off Custom OEM Style Air Intake Manifold (Very Loud!)

Hey guys,

I have been working on this project for the last month getting all of the pieces together to make it drivable:

-OEM Manifold
-K&N Air Filter
-Vacuum Line to Brakes
-Alpha N tune
-IAT Sensor Relocate (Pm me if you need a kit)

My goal for this manifold was to make it the induction noise of the car LOUD. The videos don’t do it full justice, anyone in the philly area feel free to come out to the West Chester cars and coffee to hear it!

How I made it:

Once I got the filter I traced out a template on the manifold to see where to cut to make it sit in there nice and tight so no dust could get in.

I added (ugly) silicone to make it 100% sealed because this is for sound not looks right now in prototype phase. After I cut the main hole out I needed to relocate the brake booster vacuum line to the top of the manifold like every other csl style box has done. I also used the silicone on that piece to make it seal well.

Now it was time for the install!

Then it was on! And ready for testing.

I kept the the OEM stock intake (with front snorkel and brake duct inlet) to help direct the air until I create something to connect to the manifold itself.

Driving impressions:

It’s a lot louder than another aftermarket intake it is in no doubt a great induction motor sound when you put your foot down. No loss of power… Even when at operating temperature I had no problem. No slow pick up even at low rpm's.

Now on to the videos: (Sorry my exhaust is so loud)

New Video:

So far everything is running really well. It sure is putting a smile on my face. Cheap/reversible mod that makes a great induction noise.

Cut up another manifold to make a wall piece:

The bump on the outside of the manifold help the trumpets clear the box:

I like this

Runs strong already and its only going to improve when you finish the box to direct the air coming up from the bumper and dyno tune

Ive been wanting to mess with a stock airbox for a little while now to see if this was possible. Great job!

Not sure if it makes a difference or not but isn't the filter on backwards? In other words, shouldn't it be flipped the other way with the pleats sticking out instead of in?

Wow, well done!!! That second video does remind me of that familiar CSL induction roar. Definitely not as loud, but damn close.

I wonder if ducting would further stifle the sound, or help to route it outside the engine bay?

Awesome work!!!!
