Default Which is the ZHP 330 Rack?

I just changed my suspension so an alignment is required. I figured now might be a good time to change out the steering rack. I don't auto-x so something slightly less twitchy at high speeds (and I get to have both bolt locations for the power steering trombone).
I jumped on rackdoctor and there are multiple different options for the e46 330. Does it matter or is there an ideal rack? It looks like the prices are pretty similar.

TIA

This is the thread I used and the rack I bought and it is definitely quicker than the stock one. https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...rack-installed

Iíve seen people talking about the purple one recently but I thought that was the slower one, but itís been a few years since I researched it.

Any additional parts, modifications, etc. required to fit it? My E46 M3 only needed M3 outer tie rods..

Yellow and Purple have the same ratio, slightly different feel due to internal torsion bar sizes. Most people can't tell the difference even back-to-back so I'm not sure I'd pay more if there was a cost difference between the two. If there's no cost difference then the Yellow one is "claimed" to feel better (of course that's personal preference).

E30/6/7 racks vent differently to E46 racks and that may concern you. I was concerned when I saw how significantly the boots ballooned and collapsed without proper venting (http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/52450...306-read-this/). Up to you.

How does the ďfeelĒ of an E46 330i yellow tag rack installed on an E36 compare to the ďfeelĒ of a Z3 non-M rack installed on an E36?

Z3 I believe is quicker but the ZHP feels real good. ZHP rack feels appropriate for the size of car.

Just ordered a yellow label from a salvage yard for $130 shipped. If I install it and I still have problems I will use it as the core for Rackdoctor and be $20 ahead, I hope.
