Default Light wear/scoring on Vanos piston

So bought an extra vanos to rebuild/replace my rattley one. Just got it disassembled and noticed that there is some light but definite scoring on the smaller diameter sliding shaft of the piston (see attached pic). Do you guys think that this is an issue, or should I just smooth it out with some emory cloth and continue on? Thanks!

Cloth or fine scotch pad and move along. I chuck mine in a drill and polish. Nothing really to worry about though.

Doesn't look bad to me. Even some scoring on cam journals is considered acceptable on these cars..
