Default power steering noise after hose upgrade

hi all,

just re did my high pressure powersteering hose out of steel braided high pressure line (the oem RHD replacements are crazy $$) with removable fittings.
bled the system, but i still have a persistent hum from the steering (doesnt even sound like from the pump) each time i apply effort to the wheel.
the new line is attached to a bracket in place of the old isolator rubbers (which are sheared).

is this noise a product of the new line arrangement (with less isolation), or is something else flogged. fwiw, the powersteering pump is on its way out, but pre changing of the hose that noise wasnt there.

insights appreciated.

Read through that big thread where the guy started having those hoses made (might be in for sale section). I believe I saw people talking about noise or at least about the orifice being a little too small or something, can't quite remember.

thanks mate, i now did.

looks like the noise can be a product of the non standard lines.

i'll do a flush over the weekend just in case, and then probably just put up with it.

I used those lines, then I got the updated OEM connectors and still had noise. He let me return everything, which is an awesome thing to do. It really seems hit or miss on who gets noise. I couldn’t deal with it personally.

I was told that the PS pump needs the slight flexibility with the oem rubber hose to damp
its vibrations something the s/s lines cant do very well. I dont think the vibration noise is
a fault as such so it depends whether it bothers you. Probably not a problem with a track car.

Noise from ps pump=damaged pump. Nothing u do will make the noise go away, short of changing the pump. I had this issue with after market hoses too. But ymmv

I still have noise from the steel lines, but once i put the OEM hose on noise is gone. not necessarily that the noise = bad pump.

Running the lines for a few years now. I only had noise when fluid was low or didn’t fully bleed
