The interior fit and finish of cayenne is superior. On the other hand the X5 has a roomier interior. I have two recaros in the back and my wife can easily sit in between the two. When you put the two car seats in the back of cayenne, my 100 lbs wife can barely fit in the middle. The X5 feels heavier and bigger despite the fact both weight the same, I think the porsche has less understeer. The engine in X5 has less lag and accelerates effortlessly, it is very easy to bounce the limiter. The P car has a bit more lag and takes a while to get going. Overall both car are very evenly matched IMO except the nicer interior in cayenne. He paid almost 50K more for his car, there is no way the price difference is justified. I am sure Thor will disagree...

I think if you must buy a retardedly fast SUV, which I would never btw, then the BMW X5M or ML63AMG are both better buys than the Cayenne turbo because of the price point. I don't think they are better cars, but better buys certainly. Heck I think the Cayenne S is all the SUV anyone needs for around $80K. The Porsche rides better, handles better, has a much nicer interior, gets better fuel economy and looks a little bit nicer to my eyes. It is also a much better made vehicle and holds it resale value better than the BMW, Mercedes or Jeep. But I still would not purchase any of them....

if the value of current 08 turbo is any indication, I say 40k. So basically it will loose 110k in value in 5 years. wouldn't be a bad idea to snap a CTT in 3 years time when it is at 40k. LOL
