Chuckles!

Don't let the hysteria on this forum scare you.

The stock struts and shortened springs will kill you quicker than your subframe.

Your subframe looks brand new from what I saw.

^^^oh the irony....

Especially since someone didn't read the full mod list of the person he is quoting!

That said, I for one wouldn't do the reinforcement for the hell of it. Do it if it starts to be a problem (actual cracks) or if you happen to be in there for something else.

I know the car pretty well. I drove it back for him after he bought it. I also saw his x5 loaded with all the OEM parts in the back. The drive covered a couple of hours and a 7500 ft elevation mountain pass. Not a 2 minute test run.

Thanks for your help,
Mike

The sound isn't as loud as the video portrays, also I had the rear seats down and that makes it louder. It clicks every time the weight was transferred front to back or vice versa.

Hey guys, I'm in SOCAL does anyone know a good mechanic shop that you trust so that I can take my car to have them inspect the subframe to make sure it doesn't have any crack i know the mileage and the year doesn't matter but its a 05 M3 with 60k on it. My last option will be taking it to the BMW dealer here. thank you

I got a guy that says he'll drop subframe and replace bushings/bolts for real cheap (around 200 I believe)... whats the special going on at platte form a.g. ^? my guy cant weld, if its cracked ill have to find a welder or body shop that will give me a good deal. In L.A i'm sure there are awesome welders out there hurting for work. Otherwise its epoxy and foam...

Does anyone know of good welders in socal that hook up reasonable prices? (might be one for the pacific forum)

Is it true, manuals are more prone to subframe damage as one can dump the clutch..... and the sudden accelerations are really hard on the subframe? I was told by one of the Indy mechanic.....

That video got me scared, Is there a thread on here which describes how or where exactly to look for cracks and damage on subframe?
