Hmm, a 4300lb super sedan with "rediscovered involvement." Color me skeptical that any 4300lb car can truly be considered involving.

I'm sure the statement is meant to be taken in context. And it's not like past M5s were *that* much lighter (they all hovered around 4k lbs until the F10).

BTW Serious - that last line in the OP article says it all "haven't been able to say this about an M5 since 2000."

Seriously. None of the M5ís are THAT good (disclaimer; havenít driven an E28 M5). Both the e39 and the e34 a little rubbery, a little disconnected and not as powerful as you expect them to be.

Eh big deal. Average auto journo is dumb as ****. E60 is a good car outside of being unreliable and running costs. Anyone who says otherwise is a dumbfuxk.

Btw defending the f10 because other people said dumb & false shit about it doesn’t mean I like the car. You can simultaneously dislike something and set the record straight on it. F10 was never a “bad” car. It was an unattractive one made irrelevant by the 6 gran coupe which was pretty and offered same usability and same/better performance.

I wouldnít say that feeling underpowered was the 39ís issue...

Iíd say all of the M5s are mid/large luxury sedans that are made as sporting as possible within the customer demographic of an older guy who wants something satisfying and cool but would never dream (rightly so) of taking it to the track. The E60 fell a little too far on the high-strung performance side of that fence, plus the SMG is an awful choice for that application.

But this new one appears to be mega

Would love this as a daily but too poor.

Currently trying to convince my Dad to buy one though since he's in the market for a second car.
