Question CSL Roof Questions

Hey gents,

Yes, there are other threads spread out far and wide but after searching for the last hour none seem to really answer my questions / have working pictures... AND realoem is 0 help... so I thought I would post a few questions before pulling the trigger. Here goes.

There are several quality looking carbon fiber roof options on the market. The two that catch my eye right now are Karbonius and the Evolve. ECS has Karb for 1.8k and Chicane has Evolve for 2.5... My question is - (1)is the Evolve worth the extra 700? From what I've seen Karbonius does a pretty good job at replicating OEM parts. So I'm inclined to say no unless someone here knows something...

Second question is pertaining to all the other parts needed. So far I've noted:

- Euro Headliner 51442699065
- Bow/support 41328242075
(2) Can I get away with reusing my current moldings or are these often destroyed in removal process?
- Molding left 51137897925
- Molding right 51137897926
- Front insulation 51488229733
- Rear insultation 51488229734

(3)Am I missing the trim pieces that replace the sunroof controls? Or does the euro headliner remove that part.

Appreciate any help and if you don't know the answer to them all feel free to respond with what you do know.

Thanks for your time

I removed my roof mouldings and they popped off without too much hassle.
Had them painted for $100 vs $500 for OEM CSL roof mouldings. The only difference is the door, which to me wasn't worth the premium provided you can pull yours off without damaging them.

I too am curious about the panel cutout that sits below the dome lights. My headliner is a slicktop US version headliner so it had this cutout. From photos of the euro headliner online I also see this cutout. Iím not sure what lives in this cutout.

as pictured here:

Im not sure if it is some sort of BT mic panel? I saw that in another diy I dug up months ago. But I cannot find the part numbers for this microphone grill and bracket.

I have one. Part numbers listed on it are:
8250114
8171554

Looks like an easy find on ebay.

The CSL roof mouldings are made from a fairly soft aluminium that can bend or crease easily. There are also no holes for any roof rails/rack.

Re the headliner, my UK CSL does not have the second cutout behind the dome lights.

All of them can use the standard roof rails.

But, it's a good opportunity to get rid of them, if you don't plan to ever use a roof rack.

So the Euro liner isn't the same - Does anyone know what the part number is for the CSL headliner?

Edit nevermind - I think I found it: 51442699065

I'd have no issue if they weren't $500 for the pair - but that's a significant chunk for a very minor detail I'm willing to bet next to no one will notice. I'll just try to get away with reusing mine unless they are damaged.
