Default Would you sacrifice transmission choice for Color Combos/Options?

I was asking myself this while browsing autotrader. With manual swaps being more common, and assuming both cars have a very good service history, would y'all pick an SMG in your dream color/dream options over a black/silver/grey manual stripper?

Recently found a 1 owner LSB/Grey car with 70K miles, but it's SMG. Very tempting

Never

Edit: to be fair, I didn't read the post, just the title. If a manual swap is possible, that's a diff story, but would never not own a manual just to satisfy a color desire.

Yes, because it's a non-issue these days with manual swaps being so common and well documented.

It was non-negotiable for me.
But it really depends on your personal preference. If the smg is not a big dealbreaker for you then smg is something you can try.

Only with the intention of swapping to manual. Mine is ~1 of 5 IIRC, so transmission was not something I had much choice in initially.

Also imo i dont think its ever wise to buy something that "aint broke" and "fix it". If you want a manual you should probably just get a manual

With that mileage, history, and how accessible the manual swap seems to be, I'd say do it. Similar to you I pulled the trigger on my car because of its proximity and mileage (39k when I found it) and everything else was less important. If I could do it again, the only feature I'd look harder for would be a slick top.

I would. But I also don't care for 6MT and actually prefer an SMG in E46M.

In an e46 where the manual swap is cheap and easy? Sure. Most other cars no.
