Question What's more fun, 135i or e46 m3?

They seem real close to me. ALthough the 135i seems to have easy potential for tons of power. both weigh somewhat close to each other actually.

all opinions appreciated, although it would be nice if only people who have driven both commented, as it will keep the guesswork out.

I have driven a 135i on a track and my M3. I can tell you one thing, the 135i is FAST, but its just not a M. In the 135i it feels like a video game where you don't get much feed back. but in the e46 it feels much more raw. But it matters what you want and what you are going to do with the car. If its a daily driver or a weekend warrior. I would choice an e46 m3 all the way. but if you got a fat wallet just wait for the 135i M, that thing is probably gonna be pretty sick, and fing fast!

what if you throw some vishnu tune to the 135i and exhaust and larger intercooler etc,

would the 135i then be more fun than the e46 m3? Or is the 135i's feel a bit too luxury?

I really wouldnt consider the 135 "luxury". Its so much smaller inside then the M and it didnt feel as comfortable. I cant say how it performs on a track but i think theyre pretty close. I also hate the skinny look of it, i would take the 335 over it any day.

drive both and see which one you like for your self. to me 135i with a tune is fast but still looks like a girly car. e46 m3 looks awsome but its older and needs all at of money to make it fast. I can't see my self driving 135i.

IMO turbo cars are always less "fun" than NA cars, especially given the same HP. Beyond that, I'd still rather have a lower HP NA car-- for example, I'd rather have a GT3 over a 997 Turbo or a GT2.

Beyond that, the 1 is funny looking to the 46s perfection, the back seat is useless whereas people can fit in the 46 back seat, and the 1 will go through fuel pumps early and often.

You buy an M3 because its an M3. There are LOTS of cars faster than it for the same price or cheaper, but it doesn't make them better cars. Everybody has different tastes though. If everyone thought the M3 was the best car on the road, and everybody bought one, then I wouldn't feel special driving mine!

The 1 series is ugly whereas the M3 is just a gorgeous car. Only thing the 1 series has is its performance potential. There will always be someone thats faster no matter what u got.
