BMW will replace the panel with a panel of identical design if cracks are found. Or they may try using the foam/epoxy reinforcement process they outlined in an old SIB. They aren't about to strengthen anything because that would require a new round of crash tests on a car no longer in production. Just ain't happenin..
I hear you...it just seems like I'm driving around a ticking time bomb. Sure, it may look fine today, but like others pointed out, if cracks develop down the road, I'm SOL. I can't say I'm too excited with the outcome of this settlement.

I never got a letter in the mail about this. The last date to exclude yourself is 7/15/09 and I only found out about the lawsuit/settlement about a week ago.

Is this still valid? Can you still take your car to BMW for a free subframe check?

Has anyone had the dealership pay for this after having modded suspension and wheels?

Mine goes into dealer tomorrow. Just call them and tell them you need your subframe inspection performed. Hurry though!
