Default Re: Why won't my E46 M3 sell?

What I see with just a quick glance...
  1. Price is same as clean title cars in similar condition but only a few years older
  2. Title status scares people that don't know what you're hiding (even if your listing is 100% honest) and salvage impacts loans
  3. Modifications don't add value (KBB doesn't change with your mods, and that's all insurance and buyers are looking at when getting loans)
  4. Car is more than 10 years old, which can impact loans

Car looks clean though man and a little body damage is no big deal. I got my E36M for pretty cheap because of the body damage, but the frame was straight so making it into a daily/track car was no big deal.

Good luck with sale though!

Holy crap! He must have convinced himself of that through and through. That's a serious rip-off.

We don't know what his reason for selling is but if he held onto it, he would get more value out of the vehicle than letting it go now for market value. At 68k miles, some of the major items should have been done and he wouldn't be due for major items for awhile.

I dug up my old iphone from years ago. I found videos he sent me in late 2016. He was a nice guy and answered all my questions, but the history of the car seemed sketchy which is why I passed. In the video he mentioned he paid for the $4k in repairs so he must've bought the car after it was wrecked, and before it was fixed. He claimed the front bumper was painted for chips, and the rear needed repaired. Here are some pictures of the receipt. Ignore the shitty quality, its from my old cracked iphone. Enjoy.

Whats "frame work".

Probably why it was totaled. Maybe a friends shop did the work? But either way, seems sketch.

We knew it was a iphone before you even mentioned it because of the cracked screen.

But on a serious note did he ever tell you why it was a rebuilt title? $4k shouldn't total that car.

Direct quote from the seller “car got hit by another in the rear quarter. Pulled and painted. A&L auto body did the work in Palatine. You are welcome to take it for inspection”

We had a long conversation, and he answered all my questions. The car seems to be well cared for, with a decent maintenance history. He sent a few videos too.

Yeah this could mean many things lol. They should’ve wrote down a lot more information.

I personally think people are tripping about the price. It’s a decent price, maybe just a little high. The car only has 68,000 miles. Similar cars with a clean title would be selling for $25k maybe even more. (In stock form) maybe it’s the mods that are throwing people off, mainly the wheels. I’m surprised the car isn’t sold by now, especially since it’s been on and off craigslist for 3-4 years. I’d definitely change up the pictures and for sale ad.
