With that being said, if you're doing a clutch change aren't you most of the way there in swapping it anyway? Cause it doesn't seem crazy hard changing the clutch, just a lot of moving parts out the way to drop the transmission

Haha true. Just saying, it makes sense “99%” of the “hate” comes from the internet,..on sites dedicated to e46 m3’s.

That's my point, if you can do a clutch job, you can probably do this job.

Ha I mean I'm usually not as much of a dick about it in real life, but when hanging out with car guys who are familiar with the M3, there's usually some comment about how much better the manual is.

Are they m3 owners?

If anything the smg “hate” is coming from smg owners themselves lol. I meet more smg owners talking about wanting to swap out their smg for a manual.

quite the opposite. i'd put the trans as the priority over the color - and have many times.

Yes, probably will for the next E46 M3. Would love some of the Individual blues, always been my favorite M colors, started with the Le Mans blue on the E39.

I paid a premium for my zcp 6 mt with mtech interior. I was sold on the interior and zcp, I should have focused more on condition and maintenance items.

Agree 100%. The hardest part of the whole job is removing the transmission. If you can do that, the rest is cake.
