I'd expect it to be roughly $10K less than the M3 CS, inline with the M2 vs M3 pricing. Perhaps a smaller difference since the standard M2 didn't come with as many CF goodies as the M3.

Fair enough, guess we’ll have to wait and see on the price.

In any case, I still don’t get the comparison of a 2series or 3series to a Cayman and 911.

I can't wait to see the dealer markup on the m2cs.6 figure price because limited.

If we are talking “grocery getting” potential, Cayman has more trunk space than the M2.

Some people were using naturally aspirated Porsche GT cars as evidence that BMW should be able to make naturally aspirated M cars. But you're right, not the same price range or customer base.

lol does that include the space inside the cabin? I’m sure you can fit a few bags on top of the comfy rear seats of the 2series

In the UK both the Cayman GT4 and M2 CS are at an almost identical price point, so naturally they will get compared.

For me, the BMW wouldn't even get a look.

Porsche are known for sports cars followed by luxury “grocery getters”

BMW are known for luxury “grocery getters” followed by sports cars

Why would bmw follow a company known for catering to different audience? BMW isnt even in the same league as Porsche imo. BMW is more in line with Audi and Mercedes

Right. Porsche entered the SUV game to keep paying for their sports cars. BMW was able to make some sports cars because they were pretty good at the luxury car game. Different motivations for sure.

Also, anybody who wonders where BMW "lost its way" need only look at Hyundai N. Most of the "good" M guys went there and the N/Genesis cars are getting rave reviews as a result.
