I have heard the supras are sitting unsold no matter how well the mags are talking them up, and I bet the M2's and caymans will be suffering the same fate. I sat in the new c8 at Carlise this summer, its a game changer for sure. I won't trade my ZR1 for it but I can see myself adding one to the stable once someone else turns their lease in.
If that new Z06 actually looks like this, I'm in with 800 ponies for the WIN!

That actually looks sick. Now tell me its NA and flat plane and it's game over.

I think I heard it's going to be Flat plane. There are rumors that the ZR1 is going to be 1000 hp, maybe that will be Turbo and they'll leave the paltry 800 hp Z06 Naturally aspirated. The C8R sounds pretty wild though, not your typical Corvette sound

The C8.R is flat plane, and the race car will have to meet certain homologation standards in order to race. Pretty safe bet that motor will be available for the street, either Z06 or ZR-1.

BMW comes out with a pretty freakin sweet car, tons of power, good handling, decent weight, out performs the holy grail CSL and comes with a 6 speed to boot and all they get is sh*t on by "enthusiasts", ffs.

Thanks for proving my point!

Does BMW even make an N/A powered car anymore?

I can get over the EPS, eventually BMW will figure it out like Porsche.
I can get over the new safety standards which drive the increase in weight and size
I can get over all of the other techie features if you can turn them off

But the turbo motors are just soulless in a sports car. I don't care how much of an advantage in power or torque or mpg they have over N/A motors, they just don't continue to excite after a few miles.

I had the chance to track a 2019 M2 Comp at Monticello back in October and while the car was plenty fast, it felt dead and at no point did I say to myself I want one. I can't see how the M2 CS is any different.

I think an aftermarket exhaust/downpipe, intake (to open up the turbo noises) with wastegate, or aftermarket turbos would do a lot to bring some of that vicious soul back. For me, a lot of turbo cars seem soulless because you can't hear the noise like you do from a high-revving NA motor that screams to redline....But the sound of an angry turbo spooling up *SSSSSHHWOOOOOOO* followed by the wastegate opening and letting out a gnarly *Stu-tatututu* or *Woooo-Tsssss* noise usually gets my heart pounding and shit eating grin on my face in a similar way that a nice sounding NA motor does. Especially when you have anti-lag sounding like a war-zone going on from the rear during a hard launch.

Gotta love an S54...but if you can get the M2 CS to make theatrical noises like this....for me, it would have plenty of soul to the experience...Just a different genre of music.
I mean, how can you not chuckle like a school boy seeing boobs for the first time like this guy does at the end.

Are there turbo cars with “soul” (lol) to them? How come cars like the r34 gtr and 997 GT2 be such icons? Hell, the best Ferrari is arguably an F40, which is turbo.

The rapid increase in turbos in the BMW line is necessitated by the CAFE standards. If you don't like that - blame environmentalists - not BMW.

Yet the GT3 and GT4, which are very much Porsche's equivalent to the M cars, remain NA.

... personally, while I really dislike turbos, I find the steering a much bigger issue.
