Update: 11/30/19 Spark Plug Change


Changed the spark plugs on the old girl this weekend. Old ones had just under 20k on them but it's been a while since I changed them. Didn't see anything to be concerned about when inspecting the old plugs.

Isn't the entire point of iridium or other precious metals like platinum to last 100k? I rock copper and change them every 20-30k. I mean, why pay such a premium? Iridium is perfect for a daily that you don't want to work on often, I think.

These cost me $42 shipped. I pay more for oil and filter. I know what you are saying on my daily I change the spark plugs at 100k but I do a lot of "preventative" and "overkill" on this car.

Edit: I just went back and checked. Last time I changed the plugs was February of 2013, so again for $42 even though not needed I probably will change these out more often.

It's true, $42 is nothing, esp if you're stretching it by 6-7 years.
