Good to hear another positive review, a friend of mine is going to pull the trigger on this kit.

But half the price? Their website has the octane kit for the m3 listed as $425.
I mis-quoted and deleted it within a minute of posting... price wasn't the point of my post.

Just my opinion that goes against the grain of this forum on this particular subject/hype.

True... but between brands, not equally.

FWIW, here's a pretty solid review from someone who is well-versed with the E46 M3 and had all 3 of the top SSKs - UUC, Rogue and AutoSolutions.

This is was irks me. When people have the less poplular opinion they always claim that the other product is "hype" as a defense. It's fine if other people have different opinions and can be just as valid for them based on what they are looking for. These opinons don't have to be in conflict.

The same can be said when people claiming that their very similar product "kicks the sh*t" out of the other. To me it just says they are insecure about their choice that they feel the need to bash the opposing brand. (This was done on both sides on this topic).

I have felt both Rogue and AS in person and made my decision based on that. I just use peoples opinions on here as guidance on what to look for or try out.

IMO Rogue kicks the shit out of AS based on AS's induced notchiness and effort alone. It's terrible.

Glad you're happy though, OP
Driven both. Was gonna go with RE because I have almost everything from them. Nope. AS is the way to go. If you want better, CAE or SMG swap

He said it very politically

there is no real loser in this comparison and most of what I have to say relates to preference rather than actual design flaws of the shift kits. I will also say up front that both SSK's are 100% better than the rubbery, vague, long throw stock shifter.

Not a fan of the CAE. SMG FTW

AKG is pretty awesome too!

I'm looking into purchasing one of these short shift kits in the near future. Have emailed Ronald @ Auto Solutions and received a very helpful reply.

What would everyone say is the best kit to go with (i.e. 20%, 30% or 40%) and why?

My car is not daily driven, however it's only a street car.

I can only tell you that I picked 20% in an effort to find middle ground between stock and the shorter throws. Ronald helped me pick based on a few questions. Call him and talk about it, he'll get you with the right one.

You can't go wrong IMO, but I only know 20%. It's effing great though. Such a joy to mow through the gears.

I have 30, it's good, but would do 20. You're really getting a great shifter rather than just a short shifter. This tranny is already pretty tough to work with, so I'd prefer to not shorten it too much.
