Default Thanks to fellow forum member

I've tracked an e39 M5 S2 for many years and I'm always impressed how easily the e46 M3 guys pull away from me when we get to the twisty bits.

Before buying one, I lurked on this and other forums to learn everything I could about the model. The s54 vanos failures concerned me the most.

I took my recently acquired car to a local Cars and Coffee and within no time a stunning 2001 LSB M3 parked right next to me. I poured over the car and the attention to detail lavished on it was quiet impressive. When the chance arose to speak with the owner, I voiced my concerns over the vanos failures.

As luck would have it, the owner of the car was Dave Dafoe who proceeded to tell me more about the s54 than I could have hoped for. I had read with great interest his threads about MicroBlue and Vanos fixes. I couldn't believe my good fortune.

Fast forward a few weeks and yesterday Dave was installing a Besian Vanos fix on my car as a preemptive measure. Dave is passionate about the e46. Throughout the morning he would call me over to show me what he was doing and explain why he was doing it.

He exhibited the same attention to detail on my car as I'd seen on his which really put me at ease.

Attached is a pic of the man concentrating on the task at hand.

Many thanks to Dave Dafoe for a job well done.
