Default Dyno charts with a Gruppe M exhaust?

I'm wondering if anyone has dyno'd their vehicle with a Gruppe M exhaust. I'd be curious to see if there are any gains to be had, or if power was lost. I have a 2005 which is pretty much stock, save for an SE panel filter and a Gruppe M. My butt dyno feels a slight improvement, especially with throttle response but I'd like to see solid numbers.

I've posted a request for shops with dynos in the NY or NJ area, but if anyone has already tested their M3, I'd be happy to see your results.

From what I've read.. the manufacturer claims a 6-8 hp increase with just the exhaust. I'm running an SE panel as well, and intend to purchase the Shark injector some time in the near future. Hopefully with all those tied in, it should give me a few extra ponies. If in the end, the exhaust doesn't give me any increase, I still think it's worth it due to weight savings.

I think I found a place not too far from me that can run a dyno. However, since I no longer have the OEM exhaust or air filter, can someone give me a baseline HP and TQ chart to compare against?

you shouldn't compare gains to other cars if they're stock and you're not.

different dynos read differently, and even the engines aren't all consistent in their output. best way to compare stuff would be to go back to stock, dyno it, then put on all the aftermarket stuff and then go back and dyno it again... it would definately be a pain, but if it's not done like that, the numbers won't really mean anything...

I have the GruppeM muffler and all I can say is that I don't feel like I have lost power. If anything...I gained but I feel it has more to do with the weight loss rather than actual HP gain.

Based on my 1/8 mile times...I do see an improvement with the GruppeM muffler. Hope this helps.

i installed a gruppe M about a month ago - I felt that i lost a little torque in the low end .. but gained some high end speed. With regard to the sound a stebro section one or RE section will clear that up - i did and it sounds GREAT .. I love my car again .. not sure on power though
