Default Boating across the Bahamas, cool trip pictures.

Ive been talking about it for a while and we finally did it, navigating all the way to the Bahamas and doing the whole Eleuthera cay chain southwards.

Here are so pics in no particular order, many more to come in the next posts:

On our way there, right after the gulf stream the waters turn into this amazing shade of blue

At the helm, endless hours were spent here

Harbor Island, huge pink sanded beaches, all to yourself.

Highborne cay

Highborne Cay marina

Hiborne Cay garbage fees

Not enyone can navigate

So I saw this sign about the sharks looming around the docks

And there were tons of them

And I really wanted to pet a shark in the wild so . .

However, these ones didnt look as chill as the nurse sharks . . . I didnt pet these.

There are many ways to feel unsuccessful and broke in life, but boating around here is most def one of the best ways of doing that. Pulling into marinas where the smallest guy is on a 110 footer and had a $300k chaser tied to the stern.

Some Cays didnt have docks, just moorings. So you'd moor up and then dinghy into the main land. It was fun to do and running the genset all night was cheaper than buying shore power anyway.

Every night if you ran the stern lights you could just chill on the transom and watch a real life aquarium form behind you.

Mandatory Pig Island (Staniel Cay) pictures. These pigs were weird they acted liek domesticated dogs.

Five pigs in this pic

Staniel Cay marina

Bro, that tide. That tide Bro. When the tide started ebbing, if you didnt get back to your boat in time you have to wait for the turn around.

Some people are good at life. Who wouldnt like an AS350 on their aft deck.

Approaching Nassau Harbor, you can see Atlantis on Paradise Island and the cruise ship docks on the main island.

Sunset, Spanish wells.

Atlantis marina.

Nassau harbour channel.

Nassau commercial docks. Lots of cruise ship traffic.

Paradise island inlet.

We ran into this guy . . . He was tired of being lonely, so he was asking his baby girl to put in on him

I came back from retirement. Two years were enough, I work for a Hedge Fund in their realty investment division.

The Nurses were pretty chill, locals told me that the only way to get bitten by them is if you spite them.
Like, drunk tourists would tug their tails (dumbasses . . . yanking on a shark's tail, great idea :eyeroll: ).
Or sometimes in shallow water if you try to walk around them and step on them they would bite too. Other than that, just feed them some bait and they just hang out and let you pet them.

As far as the other shark, no idea what it was, a chainsaw shark There were no locals around to ask and it didnt look like the kinda fish you want to be swimming next to. Pics dont show the size, but it was every bit of 6ft, if you count that saw it had on the snout it would be like over 7ft.
