They're not the best but I really like my BFG comp 2's for the price.

Sorry for bringing back an old post but I am surprised nobody mentioned Kumho as I ADORE their tires along with Continental. *Kumho Ecsta

Good information here so I'll add even though its old:

I don't like my current set of Hankook Ventus* (245s on 18in wheels). They're super loud at any speed and the grip is good when they're really warmed up but a very unpredictable at anything less than 60*F. The noise is the most annoying part. I had the car fairly gutted and wound up putting the rear seats back in because the noise from the tires made it unbearable to take on a highway.

*Edit! Doh! The noisy set is my KUMHOs... which have been pretty abused already, hence the noise. Apologies! Too many sets to keep track of sometimes.

I have Hankook V12 Evos on the E36 and E46. No complaints here.

Run the hankook on both my e36/and Carrera 2. I run both on the track, but if I didn't I would probably get the PS2's. Hankooks are loud, but grip well on the track. Plus if you are going through tires like I do, you don't want to pay the money for the ps2's. Call me old school, but PS2's are my favorite tire.

My current summer wheels are running star specs, they've been great to me in the past.

I thought you said A048 at first... which is an awesome tire but I wouldn't daily drive on them!

For me it has to be the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tyres. I got them on my M3 and the grip is brilliant. They are not the cheapest but wouldn't try anything else now!

I retract my recommendation on the hankooks. They are way too floaty. Had them for 2 sets. I'm loving my bfg comp2s now. Really great tires for the price!

I'm very happy with my Yokohama S-Drives. Have them on my 8.5" square setup in 235/40/17
