You might not have the nav, but if the radio itself (BM53/54) is in the trunk, then that's the harness you need to bring up front.

I see. So that means I need the 6m extension cable.

Thank you.

Bit confused, so if we require the 6m extension we have to run that all the way to the trunk? Or is there a cable already leading from the trunk to the dashboard and its technically just a small extension cable?

Me and cables don't mix. And honestly wouldn't even know where to hide a cable and get it all the way to the dash.

Look up some DIY videos on youtube, the backup camera DIY videos are very useful. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on the Avant 3, but if I'm essentially paying $500+ dollars to bring the car's tech up to modern spec I'll want to do the Backup camera too because honestly that is the ONE piece of modern tech convenience that I miss the most. I would love to be able to retrofit parking sensors into my car (mine didn't come with factory Park distance monitoring sensors bumpers) but that's probably too much work.

It's pretty straight forward. I pulled out my back seat and driver side bolster to run the cable from the trunk into the cabin, and then pulled up the trim along the door sill and ran the cable the rest of the way from there. Remove the kick panel (where the trunk release is) along with the trim underneath the steering wheel to run the cable the rest of the way to the back of the center console.

A word of warning while removing that door sill trim - you will break the trim/clips if you pull straight up. The trim piece slides into to the (5 or 6 clips), so if you can manage to slide the trim piece toward the front of the car while removing it, you might be able to prevent damage. Or just order a new trim piece and clips (I did this the first time when I replaced my yaw sensor). EDIT: Part number for the trim is 51478239959, look up a picture of it if my description isn't clear. The clips are 51478234047.

On an unrelated note - does anyone have any suggestions for where to buy anti-glare screen protectors? I requested some when I placed my order but they forgot to include them, and are not being responsive to my requests for it.

So after specing one the way I want, here's what the current price comes out to:
Unit - $499
IBUS (for OBC functions) - $89
Carplay - $99
Backup Camera - $45
HVAC relocation - $113
Total - $848

That is a serious chunk of coin to drop. Wondering if it won't get even cheaper in the future...
