Default BMW Parts Arriving With Manufacturing Defects

I'm wondering if anyone else has run into a similar situation? Over the past year and a half, some of the BMW branded parts I have ordered from dealerships and other suppliers, have arrived damaged or with manufacturing defects, for example:
  • Three sets of "M3" door which had some form of manufacturing defect
  • The style 24 wheels all had dust under the clear coat and some of the faces were not finished properly. The dealership ordered several wheels only to find they all had some form of damage or imperfections in them.
  • Drip edge moldings, all 5 sets of which were damaged
  • Damaged US-spec headlight lenses

OE door handle trim that fits like an eBay part. I’m disappoint.

BMW probably does not manufacture these anymore. These are outsourced to some asian company and while they are still branded as OEM BMW, these are simply not the same quality. Happens to a lot of aging platforms that still have high demand for parts.

The separated rubber on the trim strip could be shipping damage: it can catch and pull when one strip slides over another.

It is not very unusual for the local dealership to receive new body parts that were damaged during shipment just within Germany, so that they have to repair both the car and the replacement part before sending everything to the painter's.

I have some adhesive I will try on a damaged trim strip.
