Exclamation 04 M3 - Front Passenger Squeak **VIDEO**

Hello,

Have this annoying squeal from the front passenger wheel (certain it's coming from this side), can't seem to figure out the cause. Car is a 2004 6-speed with 65k original miles. Never tracked or anything...

No visual symptoms, I've already replaced pads once before with Posi-Quiet, no luck as the squeal was still there.

I then replaced all 4 sides with drilled/slotted rotors and new ceramic pads... it's still the front passenger side that's squealing.

Video of rotor spinning:

It only squeals at a certain point during the spin, the rotor also does not spin as smooth throughout the spin, only a certain part, then I can feel some resistance when trying to spin it by hand.

My next guess would be the caliper, but it didn't seem to have any sticking points when I took it off. The squeak quiets down a bit if braking while driving, and it doesn't seem to be as audible after about 40-50mph... but gets pretty annoying if just cruising around town.

If anyone has had a similar issue to this, I'd appreciate any input!

-Thanks

Sounds as if your wheel bearing shot however, to get more help, you should post here: http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/forumdisplay.php?f=9

Yes that's also a possibility, is there any way to truly diagnose a faulty wheel bearing, without complete dismemberment of this side?

There is not any drone or other noises/vibrations in the car while driving, only this squeak... and as I stated in the OP, the sound lessens when brakes are applied, and nearly goes away after getting up to highway speeds, or isn't audible from inside at least...

Also, the squeak doesn't seem to exist if driving on a cold start, only after the brakes have heated up for a bit.

And yes I moved it to the correct section... thanks!

No; however, you said, "gets pretty annoying if just cruising around town" That's all the diagnoses you need to change the wheel bearing.

I see, I just figured a faulty wheel bearing would make more of a constant vibrating/drone noise rather than one squeak every rotation of the wheel...
