I like what you are doing OP, we all went through it. Don't look at my build thread though, might give you some ideas... And please, please, don't look at Bretts' build threads, it will ruin you forever. ![]() |

Captain’s Log: Just when you think it cannot get any cleaner, it can.
Tools: Simple Green, Goo Gone, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, Toothbrush, Large Scrub Brush, Water, Clay Bar, Many Towels, and finish with wax. So smooth now. ![]() ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Captain’s Log: It’s been a few days since my last log. I’ve bent tackling cleaning all 5 wheels. 1 each night for a total of 5 days. Parts have started to arrive. New trunk gasket and rear window seals are installed. The old window seals were especially bad. I wish I took a before and after.
New trunk gasket (I love how clean the trunk area is now): ![]() New rear window seals (Yes, I know the window is dusty. Today might be it's first wash): ![]() ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by Contracheatcode; Wed, Sep-12-2018 at 07:13:35 PM. |

Captain’s Log: Today the new air vent arrived. So excited until I see they are not the same part. The eBay purchase is on the left. Original is on the right.
![]() I am going to try and use the old unit and replace the middle slat using the slat from the new. 1.jpg I guess the mechanism also is different. Lol. Time to swap not only the middle horizontal mechanism, but also the vertical mechanism as well. They are the same size and should be a swap. ![]() Final product turned out pretty good. $30 bucks for wrong eBay part turned out fine. Lesson learned to do more homework before buying. Patience and a lot of TV watching while fiddling to snap in the slats is required. End product works flawless. ![]() Installed photo. ![]() Just waiting for new C33 cassette player to arrive. I would have liked the CD43, but they are going for $500 on eBay. Since I don’t use CDs or Cassettes, may as well save some money and go old school with the original cassette. Sure I read the sound quality is not as good, but this is not Red Rocks. So I’ll be fine. Last edited by Contracheatcode; Mon, Sep-17-2018 at 02:43:44 AM. |

Very nice work!
May I ask where you found the door handle gaskets for a sedan? |

You got a pre-digital control panel center vent.
The old analog system, funnily enough, has a motorized mixing flap, while the later digital panel heater core, with all motorized flaps, has a mechanical mixing flap.
