Default Secondary Air Pump

Is there a straight forward means to deleting the Secondary Air Pump on a '98 M3 coupe? I need to pass smog checks (which will indicate fault codes) for a few more years. I can reset the codes before the tests, but when I installed a Schrick intake and missed replacing a hose properly, the SAP code would immediately recur.

Why? You’re going to pay someone to tune it out (I’m not even sure it leaves a positive SAP status monitor), and possibly still fail visual. Just hook it back up.

I removed it when it died on my '99 M3. I was doing an M50 mani swap at the time and wanted a tune anyways, so I got a TRM tune that eliminated the SAP check, never had an issue with emissions check in GA (no visual) and never any Check Engine light.

So:
Remove the SAP.
Buy the metal block off plate (I think it had a gasket too?) from BMW to plug the manifold port.
Put a rubber grommet that fits on that little hard vacuum line.
Get a good quality tune or just get a tune that eliminates the SAP.
Done.

Would a tune pass 'plug in' emissions? Or does it just turn the CEL off.

Depends on the tuner. Some delete the code altogether and others set it to always be "ready".
